" A Company of Birds" bird photos taken by Dato Loke Want Tho between 1944 to 1958.The Cathay Gallery invites you to enjoy an exhibition of black and white photographs of birds taken between 1944 and 1958 by the late Dato Loke Wan Tho who was an avid adventurer, photographer and ornithologist. Dato Loke’s photos have won many awards and give a wonderful perspective of birds in our region and beyond. A must-see exhibition for all nature-lovers.
To capture the birds above ground, towers, some more than 130 feet high, were built on which Dato Loke would patiently and quietly perch, covered by a canvas shelter, so as not to alarm the birds, awaiting the right moment to capture them at their most natural.
The 80 photographs featured in this exhibition which will run till the end of May are reproduced from the originals.
