19 Feb (Tue): “Brunei at the Heart of Borneo: What it means for Ecotourism, the Region and the World”

Session II of the Brunei Forum held on 19 to 20 Feb.

This session would be of interest to those interested in environmental and nature conservation issues, those working in the tourism and ecotourism sectors, travel writers, environmental NGOs, and civic organisations.

The main address of the session will be delivered by Deputy Minister, Ministry of Industry and Primary Resources and Chairman of the Brunei Tourism Board, Dato Paduka Haji Hamdillah bin Haji Abdul Wahab.

It will then be followed by these presentations

"The Heart of Borneo Project"
by Dato Dr Mikaail Kavanagh, WWF Special Advisor to the Heart of Borneo initiative.

"Sustainable Tourism in Southeast Asia"
by Associate Professor Victor Savage of the National University of Singapore (NUS)

"The Role of Biodiversity in Ecotourism: Practicalities, Pitfalls and Potentials - The Singapore Experience" by Dr Lena Chan of National Parks (NParks)

Attendance at the forum is free but registration is required by 15 Feb (Fri)
