16 Jan (Wed): ISEAS seminar on "Post-Bali UN Climate Change Conference: What lies ahead?"

The Bali UN Climate Change Conference which ended on 15 December has been hailed a success by some quarters and a dismal failure by others. This event marks the first of a series of international summits scheduled for the next two years work out a successor to the Kyoto Protocol which ends its first phase in 2012 via the Bali Road Map.

Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong has stated that there will be no “one size fits all approach” in the post 2012 agreement for signatories. An equitable solution will have to take into account the diverse national circumstances present in each country.

Part of the Environment and Climate Change Seminar Series, this seminar will explore "Political Economy and Economics of Climate Change" and "Role of ASEAN and Singapore".
